Oven temperature runaway — the cavity was detected above the maximum safe temperature. Here's what the code means on each Frigidaire control that uses it, what you can safely check, and what a technician tests.
What F10 means
Frigidaire ranges and wall ovens with electronic oven controls (F-codes)
F10: Oven temperature runaway — the cavity was detected above the maximum safe temperature.
How to recognize it: Electronic oven control with a digital display that shows F followed by digits (F10, F011, F030…). Newer front-control ranges show three digits (F010 = F10).
What you can safely check
- Turn the oven off; if it keeps heating, switch off the breaker and do not use it until serviced

What a technician tests
The control sets this code when it detects a specific fault, but the code alone doesn't say whether the part, its wiring or the control board failed. Frigidaire's service notes tell technicians to check the connectors and wiring and test the part before replacing a board. Parts involved:
- Oven temperature sensor — typical repair $180–$280
- Relay board — typical repair $250–$620
- Oven control — typical repair $250–$620
Further testing requires access to energized electrical components and should be performed by a qualified technician. Gas-system testing should be performed by a qualified service technician.
