Oven not heating
The cause depends on the fuel type.
Electric ovens
Bake element burned out (often visibly broken or blistered), or the broil element if broil is the problem
Oven temperature sensor reading wrong
Control board not sending power to the element
Power supply — one side of the 240 V circuit off at the breaker
Gas ovens
Weak igniter — the most common gas-oven failure. The igniter glows, but not hot enough (it doesn't draw enough current) to open the oven safety valve, so the burner lights late or not at all.
Oven safety valve not opening
Control or sensor problems
Gas supply valve partly closed after the range was moved
Oven temperature off
If baking times have changed, test with a reliable oven thermometer at 350 °F after a full 20-minute preheat. Ovens cycle above and below the set point, so a single reading isn't the whole story. Many Frigidaire electronic controls allow a small user offset adjustment (see your use and care guide). If the oven is off by more than that adjustment can fix, the temperature sensor, element, igniter or control needs testing.
Surface burners and elements
Coil or radiant element not heating: the element, its infinite switch, or wiring. On radiant glass-top ranges the element is under the glass.
Element stuck on high: a failed infinite switch.
Gas burner won't light or keeps clicking: spark igniter, spark module, a wet or misaligned burner cap, or a shorted igniter switch after a spill.
Induction zone not working: cookware compatibility first, then the induction power board and controls.
Convection, doors and self-clean
Convection fans, oven lights, door hinges and door lock motors are all common Frigidaire range repairs. A door that won't unlock after self-clean is usually a lock motor or switch issue, not a reason to force the door.
Freestanding, front-control and slide-in ranges
Front-control (slide-in style) ranges are installed tight between cabinets and often under a countertop overhang. Some repairs require sliding the range out, which takes care to protect floors and countertops. That access time is part of why the same repair can cost a little more on one installation than another.

Typical range and oven repairs
Typical Repair Example
Oven won't heat on bake
Frigidaire electric freestanding range
Symptom
Broil worked, but bake never got the oven past warm.
Diagnostic finding
The bake element had a visible burn-through and tested open. The oven sensor read correctly.
Repair performed
Replaced the bake element and verified oven temperature with a calibrated probe.
Parts involved
Bake element
Result
Oven reached and held the set temperature.
Approximate total $315
Typical Repair Example
Gas oven takes forever to light — then quits
Frigidaire gas range
Symptom
Oven igniter glowed, but the burner lit late or not at all.
Diagnostic finding
The igniter glowed but drew too little current to open the oven safety valve — a weak igniter, the most common gas-oven failure.
Repair performed
Replaced the oven igniter and checked ignition time and flame.
Parts involved
Oven igniter
Result
Fast, reliable ignition and normal baking.
Approximate total $345
Typical Repair Example
Display dark, oven unresponsive
Frigidaire Gallery electric range
Symptom
Cooktop worked, but the oven display and controls were dead.
Diagnostic finding
Correct power at the oven control, but no display output and no response to inputs. The control board had failed internally.
Repair performed
Replaced the oven control board and set up the clock and oven calibration.
Parts involved
Oven control board
Result
Controls, display and bake/broil functions all working.
Approximate total $545

Why does my Frigidaire gas oven take so long to light?
Most of the time the hot-surface igniter has weakened. It still glows, but it doesn't draw enough current for the oven safety valve to open quickly, so ignition is slow or fails. A technician measures the igniter's current draw to confirm it before replacing it.
Do you repair wall ovens?
Yes. Wall ovens share many parts with ranges but are installed differently, which changes the repair. See Frigidaire wall oven repair.
Is it worth repairing a range with a broken glass top?
Often, yes, if the glass is still available for your model. Glass tops are one of the more expensive range parts, so we'll confirm availability and price before ordering.
Can I keep using my oven if one element is out?
If the element is visibly damaged, sparking or blistered, stop using that function and turn off the breaker until it's repaired.
