Where to find it

Online troubleshooting is intended for preliminary guidance only. Appliance symptoms and error codes can have multiple causes depending on the model. Stop troubleshooting if you encounter exposed wiring, gas, refrigerant, overheating, burning smells, or other unsafe conditions.

Frigidaire range, oven and cooktop codes by control type

Frigidaire uses several control platforms, and the same code can mean different things on each. Find the section that matches your display, or enter your model number above.

In-depth code guides: Frigidaire oven F10 code.

Frigidaire ranges and wall ovens with electronic oven controls (F-codes)

How to recognize it: Electronic oven control with a digital display that shows F followed by digits (F10, F011, F030…). Newer front-control ranges show three digits (F010 = F10).

  • For most control and communication F-codes the manufacturer's first step is to remove power for 30 seconds and restore it; a code that returns at power-up points to a failed part.
  • On recent Frigidaire ranges, a full preheat can take 30–45 minutes because of the oven liner and control algorithms, and a brief temperature overshoot during preheat is normal.
  • On front-control ranges built from serial VF430 on, the cooling fan does not run for oven settings up to 425°F; above 425°F it starts once the temperature is reached and stops after cooling to 400°F. This is normal.
Frigidaire ranges and wall ovens with electronic oven controls (F-codes) — codes
CodeWhat it meansWhat you can safely do
F1 / F2 / F4 / F5 / F12 / F13 / F15 / F17Control board or touch-panel internal / configuration alarms.
  • Turn the range off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power; if the code returns, the oven needs service.
F10Oven temperature runaway — the cavity was detected above the maximum safe temperature.
  • Turn the oven off; if it keeps heating, switch off the breaker and do not use it until serviced
F11Stuck or shorted key — a key detected as pressed for 30 seconds or more.
  • Make sure nothing (water, a utensil) is touching the control panel
  • Press Stop/Cancel; if the code does not come back, the oven can be used
F16The control cannot read the knob potentiometers (models with knobs).
  • Make sure all knobs are fully OFF, then power-cycle the range for 30 seconds
F18 / F19 / F22 / F25 / F27Oven relay board failure or communication between the oven interface board and the relay board.
  • Turn the range off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power; if the code returns, the oven needs service.
F20 / F21Communication failure between the oven control and the surface element (cooktop) control or filter board.Professional diagnosis recommended.
F23 / F28 / F29Communication failure between the oven interface board and the glass touch panel.
  • Turn the range off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power; if the code returns, the oven needs service.
F3Oven control board incorrectly configured — needs the correct board revision for the model.Professional diagnosis recommended.
F30Oven temperature sensor (RTD) open circuit.Professional diagnosis recommended.
F31Oven temperature sensor (RTD) shorted.Professional diagnosis recommended.
F33Meat probe shorted or too hot (above 392°F) — often a probe not inserted in the food or not fully plugged in.
  • Insert the probe tip into the food, not touching bone or the pan
  • Push the probe plug fully into its socket
  • Remove the probe if you are not using it
F43 / F45 / F47Cooling fan speed too low (upper/lower oven on some models).Professional diagnosis recommended.
F44 / F46 / F48Cooling fan speed too high (air path obstruction, fan or control).Professional diagnosis recommended.
F50The relay board cannot read the door switch / door lock status (wiring or board).Professional diagnosis recommended.
F60Oven control board over temperature — check back guard and panels, blocked control vents, oven vent and cooling fan.Professional diagnosis recommended.
F90 / F91 / F92 / F93 / F94 / F95 / F97Motorized door lock problem — lock or unlock time or attempts exceeded, lock switch invalid, or lock motor not stopping.
  • Let the oven cool completely after self-clean; the door stays locked until it is below cleaning temperature
  • Then power-cycle the range for 30 seconds and try unlocking again
F96Oven door detected open during self-clean (door not pressing the switch, or someone pulled on the door).Professional diagnosis recommended.
LinE / LinE ERRMissing zero-cross signal or internal voltage test failure.
  • Turn the range off at the breaker for 30 seconds, then restore power; if the code returns, the oven needs service.
SPrSpark detected during self-clean — a cooktop burner igniter was activated, so clean was canceled. Do not use the cooktop during self-clean.
  • Turn all burner knobs fully OFF; after the oven cools, restart the clean cycle

Frigidaire induction cooktops and ranges

  • Induction heats ferrous (magnetic) cookware through a high-frequency field; pan-detection codes are often cookware that is not magnetic enough, warped, rusty, too small or off-center.
  • With induction, boiling that looks stronger in one spot of the pan than another is normal.
  • Before power-cycling an induction cooktop with knobs, all knobs must be OFF; leaving a knob on causes further error messages.
Frigidaire induction cooktops and ranges — codes
CodeWhat it meansWhat you can safely do
C159 / C259 / C359Supply voltage too low at the induction power board (36-inch).Professional diagnosis recommended.
C164 / C264 / C364Induction power board cooling fan blocked (36-inch cooktops).Professional diagnosis recommended.
C35 / C75 / C95Supply voltage too low at an induction generator.Professional diagnosis recommended.
C38 / C78 / C98Induction cooling fan not connected.Professional diagnosis recommended.
C42 / C82 / A2 (pot detection)General pot-detection alarm — cookware not suitable, warped, rusty, wrong size or off-center.
  • Use a pan a magnet sticks to firmly, flat-bottomed and sized to the zone, centered on it
C44 / C84 / A4Induction board temperature warning — often a dry pan on high heat; let the zone cool, then continue.
  • Don't heat an empty pan on high
  • Let the cooktop cool, then resume
C45 / C85 / A5Induction board temperature alarm.Professional diagnosis recommended.
C51–C56 / C63–C68Zone temperature sensor fault or zone too hot (often dry pan on high).Professional diagnosis recommended.

Repair service

Frigidaire appliances can use different components and diagnostic logic depending on the model and control platform. Since several different failures can produce the same symptom, the safest next step is to have the appliance professionally diagnosed.
