Frigidaire error code lookup

Choose the appliance, type the code from the display, and add the model number if you have it. You'll see what the code means on your control type and what you can safely do.

Where to find it

Online troubleshooting is intended for preliminary guidance only. Appliance symptoms and error codes can have multiple causes depending on the model. Stop troubleshooting if you encounter exposed wiring, gas, refrigerant, overheating, burning smells, or other unsafe conditions.

Why the same code can mean different things

Frigidaire has used several generations of electronic controls. A refrigerator "SY EF" points to the freezer evaporator fan, while "EF1" on a front-load washer means a clogged drain pump and on a dryer means a blocked vent. Some dishwashers built before 2017 only show the code family (for example i50) instead of the exact code. That's why this lookup asks for the appliance type and, when a code is shared by several platforms, your model number.

What to do when a code appears

  1. Write down the exact code, including letters and any blinking pattern.
  2. Follow the safe steps for that code — for many control codes, that means turning the power off for the time listed and back on.
  3. If the code comes back, the control has found a real fault. A technician confirms which part failed before replacing anything.

Burning smell, smoke, sparks, a gas smell or water near wiring? Stop, turn the appliance off at the breaker if you can do so safely, and call for service.
